As part of the project, there was an opportunity to create a 3D version of the snappy designs logo and showcase it in virtual reality. This was an exciting addition to the project, as it allowed for a more realistic representation of the logo in a third-dimensional space. To achieve this, the logo was recreated in Adobe Dimension and then recorded using Adobe Aero. The addition of polls on the virtual reality logo provided a way to show the logo suspended in the third dimension, allowing the audience to fully appreciate the design and potential of the brand.

After our initial meeting, which involved laying out the brand design brief and examining competitor research, it became much easier to gain a sense of direction for the project. This allowed for a deeper understanding of my client's vision and expectations, as well as the standard conventions for a jewelry brand. By examining these norms, we were able to explore ways to push the boundaries and create something entirely new and unique. This process helped to establish a clear direction and vision for the project, making it easier to move forward with the design process.

Logo Development

Final Mark

Once we had landed on a name that my client liked, it was incorporated into the logo that we had already agreed upon, which my client was very fond of. In creating the logo, I took an abstract approach to capture the values that my client wanted for her brand, such as being easy-on-the-eyes and relating to water. The resulting logo reflects what sets Snappy Designs apart from other brands with its fun, positive, and sustainable outlook. To highlight individuality, I created the circles and middle shape in a way that makes the entire logo asymmetrical. The color layout also adds to the logo's recognizability, with the top circle in turquoise and the remaining elements in orange. To reduce the cost of printing the logo while maintaining its integrity, a black and white version was created using an outlined circle on top. Overall, the logo effectively captures the essence of the brand while also providing a practical solution for printing.
Typeface

The choice of the Nighty display typeface provided a clear indication that the snappy designs brand would be inspired by fun and retro vibes, which is fitting for both the logo and bold headlining text. To balance out the playful and decorative Nighty font, a secondary typeface was needed that was easy to read and not overly geometric in design. Avenir Next was the chosen typeface as it met the appropriate benchmarks for readability and style. Overall, the combination of Nighty and Avenir Next creates a unique and cohesive brand identity for snappy designs that is both fun and functional.

The warm and vibrant color palette chosen for snappy designs made it clear from the outset that this brand would embody inclusivity, vibrancy, and fun. The bright turquoise color serves as a contrasting element to the other warm colors, while also fitting in perfectly with the overall palette. This combination of colors effectively communicates the welcoming and inclusive values that were initially established for the brand. The warm color scheme helps to create a sense of community, while the bright turquoise adds a touch of excitement and playfulness. Overall, the color palette successfully captures the essence of snappy designs and what the brand stands for.

As sustainability is a key aspect of the snappy designs brand, my client opted to use untreated cardboard for packaging their earrings. In order to further their commitment to sustainability, my client preferred to use a stamp to treat the packaging, making the black and white logo a fitting choice. To maintain the integrity of the asymmetrical logo while also keeping the packaging practical, the top circle was changed to an outline.
